Extended Characters
To display extended characters, some of JapanKnowledge contents uses “IPAmj Mincho Font” data, one of the achievements of “IPA Character Information Infrastructure*1, *2),” or its format-converted characters.
*1) “IPA Character Information Infrastructure” was a project by IPA (Information-technology Promotion Agency) to organize and further the international standardization of the approximately 60,000 Chinese characters used in administrative work, in which it is necessary to display personal names, etc. accurately. IPA made the character fonts it devised and the character data available table free of charge. Please see here for details of the project.
