TIPSFacet or Search first?
If you already know the category or content you want to search, it is recommended to filter first the information in the content facet before you search. If you are unsure in which content your search information may be included, it is recommended to search first, and then select the content of the information you are interested in.
For example, if you want to search information about "Izumo-Taisha" from the [Encyclopedia] category, by selecting "Encyclopedia Nipponica" in the content facet and then typing "Izumo-Taisha" in the box, the engine will immediately provide you with the filtered result.
If you are unsure in which content your search word is included, in the case of "Miyazaki" for example, search the word first. Then if you are searching for the person’s name, select the category of [Biography, Culture and Religion]. If you are searching for the place name, then select the [History] category, or [Japanese Historical Place Names] inside of the [History] category.
The contents facet permits the filtering of the search results. However, if you already know the content or category of your search information, selecting the category or content before searching will guide you faster to the results you are looking for.
