You can pick series of books and magazines from the home page of Bookshelf, as if they were put on a bookshelf, and read turning the pages. If you click on the tab Bookshelf on the top of the page, you will be able to see the contents available (the number of available contents will depend on the contract).

Bookshelf - Example of "Toyo Bunko"

  1. In the home page of Bookshelf you can select the series of books you want to read. (Here we select "Toyo Bunko" as an example.)
  2. The list of titles will appear in order of the work number. Choose the work you want to read or you can filter the contents in the classification facet on the left-hand side of the page.
  3. Choose the work number

  4. "Toyo Bunko"s text page. You can display it freely, such as full-screen, zoom in/out, or rotate. You can also turn the page by following the index.

  6. By clicking on the information tab, beside the contents tab, you will be able to see the overview and the published year. You can print out the text by using the print function of the browser.

    *This viewer type is available in "Toyo Bunko" "The Complete Collection of Japanese Classical Literature" "Meiji Bungaku Zenshu" "Famous Places in Edo."

The contents of JKBooks are displayed in a designated PDF viewer. The contents which uses PDF viewer are: "Nihon Kindai Bungakukan (Taiyo, Bungei Kurabu, Koyukai Zasshi, Kindai sakka genkoshu)" "Fuzoku Gaho" "Gunsho Ruiju series" "Bijutsu Shinpo" "Toyo Keizai Shinpo/ Shukan Toyo Keizai Archives" "Kobunso Taika Koshomoku" "Bungeishunju Archives" "Shintei Zoho Kokushi Taikei".
