Iwanami Booklets: A Selection of 70

Iwanami Booklets, first published in 1982, have now grown into a series totaling over 1000 titles, more than one new title being published every month. The concept of the series is that the most authoritative person active in each of a variety of areas would summarize the essence of the issue in a concise and easily understandable way. Booklets in the series take up diverse themes, from commentaries on plastic pollution and the novel coronavirus, to titles concerning war and peace, long sellers such as historical tables, and introductory books on topics such as environmental conservation and global warming. As these booklets enable easy-to-comprehend study from familiar topics to global issues, they are being put to excellent use as companions for research-style study in high schools throughout Japan. As each booklet comprises on average 60 pages, and as they are printed in a large font, they are quick and easy to read. We definitely hope that you will read these booklets as the first introduction to a new topic.
